First and foremost, if you’re working around electricity, you will need a step/ladder which is non-conductive, e.g., fibreglass or else known as GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic). If there are ever any nasty electrical shocks, which may occur, at least you and your ladder are insulated from the electrical shock. Little Giant ladders have been tested to 30,000 volts.

You can often find Fibreglass ladders and steps on the market, which often have yellow stiles. Over the years, this has become a standard colour of fibreglass ladders and steps, but at Little Giant, we have made all our fibreglass ladders in Hi-Viz green. So, if you see a Little Giant ladder in green, chances are, it has fibreglass stiles.

Also, apart from being different from the usual yellow fibreglass, we didn’t just choose Hi-Viz green because it looks cool…well it does, but there’s a bit of science behind this colour choice. According to studies, Hi-Viz green is the most visible colour to the eye, so this helps to reduce the common accidents that occur on-site where people often walk into your ladder whilst you’re on it, and of course, owning a Little Giant ladder means you have plenty of additional safety features built onto your ladder/step as standard. For instance, many of our ladders have the ‘Ground Cue’, an orange bar situated on the last tread. This feature will provide the user with an audible click that you can feel through your boot to alert the user that you’re on the last tread and it’s safe to dismount.
